I’m taken on a high-speed tour of the harbor in the Persian Gulf port area while manning a 50 cal. machine gun on the foredeck. Honored and humbled by my USO tour overseas. USO Photo by DAVE GATLEY

What was it like there? In regards to the civility of the location? I’ve heard Kuwait is generally safer; I’ve got some friends who took contractor jobs over there, but we never hear from them. Did it seem, relatively safe? I know Qatar is like a tourist location, there’s a Westin and everything. But I don’t hear much about Kuwait.

getting off the plane in kuwait feels like someone hooks up a vacum hose to your body and just sucks all of the water right out of you i spent more time there than i care to remember anyway i can say one good memory did come out of that place and that was watching the sox win the 2004 world series on a little 13in tv there i will never forget it but at the same time i really wanted to be home watching it with my friends it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and i saw it just didn’t get to see it or celebrate it the way i wanted to but anyway other than the heat and just being on constant alert to the enviroment, it wasn’t that bad i guess after a while u just get use to things being what they are anyway i’m glad that curt went out there to visit it really helps out when we get a visit from home remember we all need support from home it makes life alot easier
